Former Tahidi High actor Mr Tembo says investing in his children was the best decision he made in life.
Speaking to Kamuhunjia show on YouTube, the 79-years-old veteran actor said he is reaping the fruits of his handwork.
“Tahidi High was constant. I was there for 11 years and with the money I made, I planned it well. I have kids in Norway, Sweden and so they are taking care of me now,” he said.
He added that if one doesn’t plan themselves well in terms of money, they need to plan their family.
“Family is the best component in my life. That is why even when I am not working, you will never see or hear me begging. That is shaming my kids and family. That is disrespect to them.
Invest in them and avoid situations that will make you a beggar in public. I don’t have a lot of money but I planned my kids.”
Speaking about his character as a headteacher in Tahidi High, he said passion kept him in the programme.
“A lot of people don’t know that what happens in the program is what happens in our schools. It is the reality. If you don’t have passion, you will quit since there is no good money.”
He called on the government to boost the entertainment sector.
“We can do better as a country if we in just money in our films. It’s a multi-billion making money.
If I had money, I would put actors in a monthly salary. The industry needs to be boosted with good money and it will payback. There is a market to sell our content. We cant get at 60% when the production is not doing well. The TV’s will keep on importing contents from abroad.”
He does not regret anything in life.
“There is no regret. I thank God for my family and friends and for the years God has given me.”
