Access to State House without express permission is prohibited, this is according to the latest warning by Spokesperson Kanze Dena over Monday, June 10 shooting.
In a statement, Dena communicated that the official residence of the President of Kenya is a protected area where entry of unauthorized persons is prohibited.
“State House is a designated protected area under the Protected Areas Act. For that reason, no person is allowed access to the premise without the permission of the prescribed authority,” read the statement in part.
She stated that Brian Kibet Bera, 25, was overpowered at around 4 pm and booked at Kileleshwa Police Station under OB No. 39.
“The incident occurred at 4.05pm and the suspect was booked at Kileleshwa Police Station before he was taken to Kenyatta National Hospital for treatment.
“Investigations are ongoing to establish the motive of the trespass and appropriate action will be taken upon conclusion.”
The fifth-year Mechanical Engineering student at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) had revealed his plan on Facebook before he stormed the premises.
Kibet was, however, stopped after he reportedly jumped over State House’s Gate B by General Service Unit (GSU) officers on duty.
In his page, Kibet ranted on the timeline of his invincibility and justification.
In one of the posts, he stated that he was dropping out of school and denied that he was mentally unstable.
