The investigation into the murder of Utawala taxi driver, Evans Moracha, has taken a new turn as police intensify their efforts to bring justice to the victim.
Stanley Collins Muthika and Kennedy Murimi Kinyua have been arrested as murder suspects in connection with Moracha’s death.
Moracha’s body was discovered in Maragua Dam after he had been missing for nearly two weeks.
The police’s interest in the case was heightened when they positively identified the victim’s body on October 24th.
Teresiah Masese, the wife of the deceased, is named as the prime suspect in her husband’s disappearance and murder. She allegedly filed a missing person’s report two days after Moracha went missing.
However, the investigation has revealed two additional suspects in the case, both of whom were arrested recently.
Stanley Collins Muthika was apprehended in Ruringu village, Nyeri, and led the detectives to the second suspect, Kennedy Murimi Kinyua, in Ongata Rongai Township.
Notably, Murimi is an interdicted police officer from Akila Police Station, and he is currently under investigation for desertion of duty.
The initial findings by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) suggest that Moracha was picked up from his home by the two men in the presence of his wife, Teresiah Masese.
This development has shocked the local community, and the investigation continues to unravel the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
As police intensify their efforts to uncover the truth, the case serves as a stark reminder of the need for justice and the relentless pursuit of those responsible for heinous crimes.
