Petroleum and Mining Chief Administrative Secretary Eng. John Mosonik has urged Bomet County Government to make Jackson Kipkirui Koskei, the tallest man in Kenya, a brand ambassador to attract tourists in the county.
Eng. Mosonik said Koskei who stands at 7.3 feet possessed a unique physical feature that the county could tap into in attracting local and international tourists to visit tourist attraction sites in the region.
He spoke when he visited Koskei over the weekend in his Kapkoros home where the duo explored possibilities of making such a deal a reality.
Koskei is the tallest man in the country and towers just a foot shorter than Turkish Sultan Kosen standing at 8 feet 3 inches, which is currently in the Kenya book of records.
The 61-year-old father of four has been a brand ambassador for the National Council Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse NACADA.
Koskei, aka Kanga or Eucalyptus, as he is known locally, says his unique feature ran in his family tree as his grandfather was equally tall adding that one of his 19-year-old niece is 6.9 feet.
Despite having his house, a bed measuring eight feet square, and clothes custom-made to fit his towering height, Kanga says he has to go for second-hand shoe market to find a shoe number 13.7, a shoe that even Bata Limited does not manufacture currently.
