Following the recent rising abductions, the Incoming Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Interior Kipchumba Murkomen has issued a statement over the matter.

The Cabinet Secretary has urged the families of those young Kenyans who have been abducted to report the cases to the police stations for quick investigations to be carried out by police officers.

Kipchumba Murkomen further said that the families should provide accurate information and details on the abductions and dissapearrence of their loved ones. He said that this would help the Police officers to verify the information pertaining to the abduction cases.

He said that he is ready to support the National Police Service in conducting investigations to help in providing information on the whereabouts of the abductees.

Incoming Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen also expressed his confidence in the National Police Service saying that they would help in investigations.

The National Police Service has however defended themselves saying that they are not part of the abductions team.

Kipchumba Murkomen has also defended the National Police saying that the institution is independent and cannot take any order from Executive on how to execute its Constitutional manadte.

Kipchumba Murkomen spoke in Bungoma county on December Friday 27, just after President William Ruto vowed to end the rising abductions cases in the country.

This comes as families of three young Kenyan men are still unaware of the whereabouts of their sons following their dissapearrence after they got abducted by People whose identity have not been proven even as DCI and Police distance themselves from abductions.
