In order to resolve their conflict, Siaya Deputy Governor William Oduol has stated that he is prepared to speak with Governor James Orengo, his superior
Speaking on Tuesday during an interview, Oduol said the tussle between them is not good for service delivery.
“Service delivery is not improved by this lengthy conflict. The losers in the end are the young people of Siaya county, according to Oduol.
If Orengo called out to him for a cease-fire, Oduol declared he would answer.
“I want us to finish this, I’ve declared myself on this and mentioned it many times. If James Orengo calls, I’ll rush to him, but I won’t flee with my tail between my legs; instead, I’ll show him the gaps,” Oduol remarked.
The DG, however, asserted that he would discuss some of the problems plaguing the county with Orengo and collaborate with him to find solutions if given the chance for conversations.
In an effort to talk to his supervisor and come to an agreement,
“The bipartisan talks happening nationally today is because President William Ruto became the bigger person and reached out to Raila Odinga, I encourage my governor that we also owe it to the people of Siaya county to stay united,” he said.
The Siaya county assembly on Monday approved an impeachment motion against DG Oduol.
Out of the 42 Siaya MCA, 38 approved the motion. Only one object while three were absent with an apology.
The speaker directed that the committee will report back its findings by June 8, 2023
