Celebrated gospel Musician Phyllis Mbuthia is counting loses after her YouTube channel was hacked and deleted. Two days ago, Phyllis took to her social media pages to make the announcement.
The channel was deleted with s number of her songs. Some had gathered millions of views and she was already earning from them.
Her case has not gone well with Nyandarua county senator Methu who has vowed to seek for statement in the Senate. Methu noted that the Cabinet Secretary for Information Communications and Digital Economy Eliud Owalo must come up with measures to curb cybercrime in the country. He noted that such accounts must be protected from hackers who have become notorious.
“The story of gospel artist Phyllis Mbuthia is painful. Deleting her Youtube account is one of the most heartless ventures anyone can do to such a blessed servant of God. Phyllis Mbuthia shall rise, from dust to grace. One of her songs had 16 Million views, She is now at less than a thousand views in her new account.” The youthful senator posted on his official social media pages.
The senator however expressed hopes that the channel will be recovered to enable the celebrated gospel artist to earn again from it
“I hope her account is recovered. I will be seeking a statement in the senate Next week on the measures the ministry of ICT and Digital Economy is taking to combat this dangerous cyber crime including creating awareness on account protection.” sen Methu added.

It is not the first time a YouTube channel is being hacked, many artists have suffered from the same, some manage to recover the accounts while others fail completely and end up create new accounts.
