If you are a fan of Kikuyu songs especially cultural and roots songs you must have come across this famous artist who is also a teacher of culture called Kwame Rigii.
Kwame is one of the artists who have a huge number of followers on all his social media platforms including his YouTube channel which goes by his stage name Kwame Rigii official channel. He also commands a huge crowd when he is performing live.
When he was addressing his views on the ongoing issue of copyright where several artists led by Waithaka Wa Jane had been sued by JB Maina for singing his songs live on stage without his consent.
Now Kwame has said that even upcoming artists should have their songs and if someone has no song or he or she can not compose a song he or she should hand his guitar and go home leaving the music for those who can compose songs.
“If you can’t compose your songs, hang your guitar and go home, leave music for those who have songs of their own,” He said.
