The residents of Jersey and Kamuchiri villages in Mai Mahiu have lost relatives, friends and neighbours who are among the 48 victims of the devastating deluge that came down in the wee hours of Monday. One family is living the horror and pain of losing four members.

The daily nation has gathered information from Mai Mahiu and released identity of some of the people that Kenya lost over the huge floods.
Among those who succumbed are Elizabeth Mugure ( 16 year old), Rachael Wanjiku, George Wakang’u, Owen Kimani ( 3 years), Jane Muthoni ( 25 year old), Mary Gathoni ( 70 year old), Ann Muthoni ( 4 years), Alvin Njoroge ( 8 year old) and Mary Muthoni ( 4 year old).
From the reliable reports 71 dead bodies have been recovered from Mai Mahiu and more than 28 are missing.
Let’s join hands and pray for the families affected by these floods and even lost their loved one.
