CS ICT Eliud Owalo launches the Jitume Center in Eldama Ravine, Baringo County. This is part of the transformative agenda of the Kenya Kwanza Government.

Information, Communication, Technology (ICT) and Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo has today launched a Jitume Centre in Eldama Ravine, Baringo County.

The Jitume Centre launched on Saturday by Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo is part of the Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) of the Kenya Kwanza Government.

Jitume is an initiative aimed at providing the youth with access to digital services, digital skills, and opportunities to enable them take advantage of technology for job creation.

Ministry of Information, Communications & The Digital Economy is setting up Jitume Centres as part of fulfilment of the charters that H. E. President William Ruto and Team Kenya Kwanza signed with the people of Kenya in consultative forums in every county in the country ahead of last year’s 9th August General Elections.

The primary objective in Jitume centres is to train our youth for digitally enabled jobs on the Internet, in line with the Kenya National Digital Masterplan 2022-2032 and the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).

ICT and Digital Economy CS Eliud Owalo has launched the first regional Jitume Laboratories in Uasin Gishu and Bungoma Counties.

The Jitume program is a government initiative aimed at providing digital skills, e-services, and online opportunities to young people throughout Kenya.

It is being implemented by several ministries, including the Ministry of ICT and the Digital Economy, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, and the Ministry of Labour.

The program will provide on-the-job training and online courses to young people from all 47 counties and will lead to certification upon completion.

At least one Jitume Centre is being placed in every ward in the country. Kenya youth are now being moved from learners to earners. ICT is the future.

Cheptumo, Konza Technopolis Ag CEO, John Okwiri and ICTA ICT Authority CEO, Stanley Kamanguya among other National and County Government leaders.
