CC prosecutor Karim Khan in an interview with TV 47 on 4th August evening spoke about the violation of human rights as well Azimio la Umoja one Kenya Coalition’s move of lodging a case to ICC.
As relayed by a report covered on TV 47, the prosecutor claimed that he will continue fighting for human rights in ICC.
TV 47 as well claims that he spoke on Azimio la Umoja one Kenya Coalition’s push to have inspector general of police Japheth Koome prosecuted at ICC over police brutality during anti-government demonstrations.
“KARIM KHAN: KIONGOZI WA MASHTAKA ICC AZUNGUMZAKiongozi wa mashtaka katika mahakama ya ICC Karim Khan anasema ataendelea kushughulikia kesi zinazokiuka haki za kibinadamu” TV 47 wrote.
“Akizungumza na runinga ya TV47, Khan pia amegusia tishio la azimio kuandikia barua icc kutokana na mauaji yaliyoshuhudiwa kwenye maandamano”, the report intimates.
This comes hours after being honoured at Mt Kenya University where National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula was the speaker.
It should be noted that Azimio la Umoja one Kenya Coalition’s via their legal advisors has been documenting evidence and documents ahead of lodging a case to ICC.
The coalition accused the government of using police officers to harm and kill innocent Kenyans who were protesting against high cost of living among other things.
