Bonfire Adventures boss Simon Kabu has revealed he had to work as a matatu tout to gather school fees as he could have dropped out of campus.
The father of three had to work 6 days a week just to get the money he needed. Sharing a photo of himself as a tout, Simon shared
“Third year at Egerton University…Waiting for “wathii” Nikiwa makanga. This time I was trying to get my university fees or I could have dropped out due to lack of fees.
Thank God, after working over 18 hours, 6days a week for over 1 year, I finally got the money and went back to the university. What is this one decision you made that helped you later in life? #thekabus.”

Sharing a throwback photo of himself then, Simon shared,
‘This was my other business at @egertonunikenya . I used to screen Movies to students and they pay Ksh 5 for 3 movies ( 2 movies +1 bonus) under brand name #kavideo.
Here I was charging clients wakiingia kwa hall. This gave me some business head up and experience.
If you wanted to entertain your girlfriend in campo, I was the saviour- Hiring you a TV plus Movies for 24hrs at the comfort of your room. What is this hustle you have ever done that made you to be who you are now? #thekabus.”
