Alice Wahome is the Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development. Today, video of the CS cautioning staff in the ministry on the impacts of cartels in the sector resurfaced online.
According to a video she shared on her Twitter account, CS Wahome said she knows some of the cartels who have tried to introduce her into their deals. She said that she consulted with the President concerning cartels influence in the Lands Ministry and requested support to curb them.
CS Wahome named the Cartels uses tricks including dropping names of Cabinet Secretaries to grab lands. She further disclosed that they target prime areas including lands in Nairobi and Mombasa counties belonging to widows and elderly.
