The Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK)’s Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit has disclosed that the events of the day overshadowed attempts to bring President William Ruto and his deputy, Rigathi Gachagua, back together. The Archbishop claimed that although the church had attempted to mediate between the two leaders, political developments had outpaced their efforts, adding to the complexity of the situation.

Archbishop Ole Sapit stressed that the church has consistently been prepared to act impartially in promoting harmony and communication among the nation’s leaders. But in spite of everything they did, events outside of their control impeded their mission of reconciliation.

Due to rumors of disagreements, President Ruto and Deputy President Gachagua’s relationship has come under scrutiny. The Archbishop’s admission highlights how difficult it will be to mend the division between the two powerful figures, even with the church’s assistance. In spite of this setback, Ole Sapit urged continued prayers and unity-building efforts and reaffirmed the church’s commitment to advancing peace and communication in Kenya’s political sphere.
