Purity Wangui Ngirici is a Kenyan politician and businesswoman who served as the Woman Representative for Kirinyaga County from August 2017 to August 2022.
Ngirici is married to businessman Andrew Peter Ngirici, who has been a significant supporter of her political career. The couple has been involved in various business ventures.
Wangui Ngirichi has taken it to social media after she had hinted at the possibility of President William Ruto collaborating with ODM leader Raila.
In March 2021, Ngirici used coded language to suggest such an alliance, stating, “It’s very possible for the wheelbarrow to carry oranges and watermelons.” In this metaphor, “wheelbarrow” referred to Ruto’s symbol, “oranges” to Raila’s ODM party, and “watermelons” to Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
Her contrasting statements reflect the dynamic nature of Kenyan politics, which was witnessed after Raila signed a pact with Ruto , agreeing to work together at KICC.
