Following the assault of Citizen TV reporter Francis Gachuri by goons at the Wiper Party headquarters, NASA leaders have issued a statement.
Led by Raila Odinga, the leaders criticized the assault on journalists as Musalia Mudavadi personally called Gachuri to apologise.
“I have spoken to Mr Wachira Waruru (Group managing director RMS) and apologised to him,” Raila stated.
Following the assault, the reporter tweeted saying that he was okay:
Francis Gachuri @Fchurii
I am fine. Very fine. The incident at Wiper Hqs was unfortunate but all is well. Thank you for your kind regards.
Gachuri and a camera person working for NTV were assaulted by goons who did not want specific media houses to provide coverage at the Parliamentary Group meeting.
All journalist who had gone to cover the event walked out in solidarity with the assaulted journalists.
