Customers linked to Airtel telecommunication company now have a reason to smile after the company arrived at a conclusion of giving subscribers 1GB free data. This was after a technical hitch occured in their systems such that those who bought data bundles could not browse due to poor connectivity. However, after a resolution of the systems, an apology was granted and those affected had to receive free 1GB data.
The multinational telecommunication company is UK based and provides mobile money services to 14 countries in Africa, primarily in East, Central and West Africa. Airtel offers mobile voice services and data services as well as mobile money services both nationally and internationally. Airtel Nigeria is the most profitable unit of Airtel Africa due to cheap data bundles in Nigeria. As of May 2019, Airtel had over 99 million subscribers in the continent. Airtel is listed on the London Stock exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 100 index.
