Electricity is very important in our country. Kenyans use it to do their daily activities and businesses. But when its price goes up, they are affected too.

Latest information indicate that the prices of electricity are expected to go up by 3.7 per cent per a unit. This means that the cost of a unit of electricity will be Ksh 28 for an ordinary domestic customer.
This is a serious issue that needs to be addressed. This increase is a blow to all Kenyans who expected President William Samoei Ruto’s regime to lower the price of power so that they can be able to enjoy and do business without fear.
In my view, the Government needs to try and ensure the price is reduced so that Kenyans can continue with their businesses as before. Remember the person who is affected most is the common citizen because the burden goes directly to him. Someone can ask how will this happen? Those producing products using electricity will increase the prices simply because the cost the power used is high. They do that in a bid to make some profit.
Therefore in a nutshell, Kenyans will feel the pain of that increase. It is therefore important that President William Samoei Ruto’s government thinks of ways of reducing the price of electricity in our country so that every kenyan is able to afford it.
The President should remember that electricity power is important for the development of the country. And if he ensures that it is cheap and easily accessible to all Kenyans then the country will be able to move forward so quickly.
