Kenyans will soon be able to access nine essential Judiciary services at Huduma Centres, a move which will add to the wide catalogue of government services citizens can access under one roof.

In a notice, Huduma Kenya announced that Kenyans will also be able to access six other services beginning January 29 at the GPO Nairobi, City Square, Makadara, Kibra, Eastleigh, and Thika Huduma Centres.

Kenyans will have access to a variety of services at the centres. This includes the ability to file civil cases, submit documents for existing cases, and request and obtain mention dates.

Moreover, citizens can make general inquiries about their cases at these service centres.

In addition to these services, Kenyans will also benefit from e-filing support, virtual court assistance, and the seamless completion of payments for fines and deposits.

Further, the services extend to facilitating requests such as the issuance of summons to enter appearance, notices to appear in divorce cases, and obtaining crucial documents like extracted court orders, decrees, certified/uncertified proceedings, as well as copies of rulings and judgments.

Since being launched in 2013, Huduma Kenya has won multiple global awards for service delivery.

For instance, in 2015, Huduma clinched the United Nations Public Service Award (UNPSA) in the category Improving the Delivery of Public Services which is touted as the most prestigious international recognition of excellence in public service delivery.

At the time, former President Uhuru Kenyatta hailed the recognition, terming it a well-deserved fete for a well-thought-out project that made it easier for Kenyans to access services.

“I am glad that the Huduma Programme is already proving to be a showcase in efficient and effective public service delivery in Africa and beyond, ” Uhuru stated at the time.

Pioneered by former Devolution and Planning Cabinet Secretary and current Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, Huduma Centre is a government programme aimed at streamlining and hastening the administration of services.

Huduma Centres offer more than 45 key government services including ID replacement, issuance of birth certificates and generation of National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) and National Social Security Fund (NSSF) pins among several other services.
