Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition leader Raila Odinga has answered a section of the clergy who have been calling him to end the Coalition’s protests.
While addressing the journalists on Thursday, Raila stated that the Azimio La Umoja Coalition is only fighting for the truth and want their demands responded to.
Mr. Odinga’s rebuttal comes in the wake of Catholic Bishops advising him to seek alternative avenues for voicing his grievances.
Seeking to sway the clerics, he impressed upon them to resolve to work with the opposition, which, he said, has been vocal and public about fighting for their interests.
The bishops, in a press briefing on Wednesday, appealed to President Ruto and Raila to consider dialogue as a means to end the current stalemate.
Other Religious leaders also stated that President William Ruto and Raila Odinga should dialogue for peace in the country.
“Our answer to the clergy on our protests is found in the bible and we are looking for the truth on the election server, lowering the cost of living, canceling the appointment of 50 CAS and reinstating ‘Cherera Four’,” Raila said.
This development came days when ugly scenes were witnessed in Nairobi, Kisumu and Migori counties where businesses were brought to a standstill and deserted for most of the day.
