Former Machachari actress Joy Ohon has joined the entertainment industry in grieving the sudden passing of actor Charles Ouda, affectionately known as Charlie. Charlie, who was celebrated for his role in the TV show Salem, passed away on Saturday, February 3, leaving behind a legacy of talent and mentorship.

 

Expressing her shock and sadness on Instagram, Joy shared her disbelief at the news of Charlie’s death. She reminisced about his mentorship and influence on her and other young actors, including Sammy King and Bryan Kabugi, whom Charlie addressed during a reunion of the Machachari cast.

 

In a poignant video shared by Joy, Charlie’s last words to the group before leaving the event with his fiancee, Ciru Muriuki, were captured, although the audio was indistinct. Joy emphasized Charlie’s commitment to imparting wisdom to the younger generation, referring to him as a source of guidance for “Gen Zs.”

Reflecting on Charlie’s illustrious career, Joy recalled his hosting role on the educational program Know Zone, where he engaged children in interactive learning activities. Sharing a photo of Charlie from his hosting days, Joy expressed her heartfelt farewell, saying, “I’ll miss you.”

The entertainment industry mourns the loss of Charles Ouda, recognizing his invaluable contributions to the world of acting and his lasting impact on those he mentored and inspired.
