Simon Nabukwesi is best remembered for his time at the prestigious Friends School Kamusinga in Bungoma County where he led the academic powerhouse to unmatched heights.
During his time at the institution where he served as principal, Friends School Kamusinga, the institution managed to compete with other academic giants like the Alliance High School.
But in 2009, Nabukwesi changed career course after being appointed as Kenya’s High Commissioner to Canada. From an educationist, the esteemed education adminstrator became a diplomat.
In 2020, in President Uhuru Kenyatta changes to the government, Nabukwesi was appointed as research and university education Principal Secretary.
But soon after President William Ruto took over the reigns of power, Nabukwesi became one of the biggest casualties after being locked out of government.
However, for someone who has always been seen by many as lucky, the former ambassador landed new job in military college as senior directing staff, civilian at the National Defence College.
In his new position, he is technically the senior lecturer for the civilian wing of the college which is run and owned by Kenya Defence Forces. For someone that many had written off soon after being kicked out as PS, the former principal managed to silence those who had prematurely prepared his public service obituary.
