Police in Murang’a County are investigating a case where a Catholic Priest died in a hotel room in Gatanga sub-county on Saturday morning.
A Catholic Father identified as Joseph Kariuki was been reported dead. This is after spending the night with a 32-year-old Ruth Karanja.

Police commander has now revealed new details on the death of Ruai priest who was found dead in Murang’a based hotel with lover the other day.
It has been said that the Catholic priest spent KSh 6K to buy drinks and chicken. One of the hotel workers revealed that he was a man with deep pockets and that they would receive good tips from him.
The Nation in their weekly reports have given more details on the events that took place before Joseph Kariuki was found dean in a three-star Gatanga based hotel known as Monalisa.
The incident happened at Monalisa Hotel, where the priest fell unconscious and died. It was gathered that Ruth notified the hotel management in the morning, that the priest was complaining of dizziness and sliding out of consciousness.
However new twist as detectives reveal number of times the duo visited Murang’a hotel as lover claims the following.
They rushed him to the hospital using his car. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead on arrival. It was a really sad thing.
Kariuki, 43, who until time of his death was a priest under the Roman Catholic church based in Nairobi was confirmed dead by his girlfriend, 32, who they together spent a night at the hotel.
Not all who participated in a race get the prize. Do not celebrate, the priest failure is human and any person no matter your station can be overtaken by error.
