Machakos Governor, Hon Wavinya Ndeti, has been forced to make clarification following the allegations that she has been detained in UK after trying to deposit over 600 million shillings in her foreign accounts.

In her statement, Ndeti refuted claims saying together with her family she’s safe and sound. She stated that still she stands in good terms both in Kenya and abroad.

According to her, the allegations were spread by her political competitors whose aim is to negatively impact transformative work she’s doing in Machakos county.

“It is demeaning and an insult to intelligence of the people of Machakos county and Kenya to imagine that I would smuggle hundreds of millions of shillings on my person to the UK and that I have been detained” said Hon Ndeti.

“I can confirm that my family and I are safe and sound and remain in good standing both home and abroad,” she added.

She has asked those who came up with the allegations to be ready to face law if they will lack to evidence to defend their report.
