The kenya red cross is one of the many international Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement societies around the world. The kenya organisation was established in 1965.
The Kenya Red Cross supports and runs a number of projects whilst raising awareness to the Kenyan public about the current issues or problems which may affect them. Some of the projects which are either run by or assisted by the Kenya Red Cross are Famine, blood services, first aid projects, disaster and emergency services and education services.
On Tuesday 20, the current governor of Homabay county H.E. governor Gladys Wanga was appointed as Homabay county kenya red cross patron and the certificate was issued to her. She will represent Homabay county for the next five years before another appointment is made.Wanga promised to work together with the Kenya red cross society on disaster preparedness, health, food , security, water and sanitation. On her Facebook page, Gladys thanked the kenya red cross society for her appointment and eager to work with the team together.
Gladys Wanga will now join other governors as well as Mr President William Ruto on matters affecting the country. Remember, president Ruto took the position of patron from former president Uhuru Kenyatta and he was sworn in as the patron in last few months.
