During the Jamhuri Day celebrations on Thursday, December 12, 2024, President William Ruto presented national awards to over 500 Kenyans.
These honors honor exceptional and noteworthy contributions made to the country in a variety of roles.
Other noteworthy categories, such as the Order of the Grand Warrior (OGW) and Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (MBS), are included in the honors, showcasing members of the armed forces, public sector, medical field, and legal system.
In appreciation of their service, Ruto presented awards to a number of professionals, civilians, and military officers.
Six Kenyans received the Moran of the Order of the Golden Heart (M.G.H.) award (Third Class), including Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja.
The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) comprised the other five recipients in this category.
The second-highest honor bestowed by the Order of the Golden Heart, the Elder of the Golden Heart (E.G.H.), was also given to Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu.
