A student wanted for spraying live bullets on two school staff in Denver, Colorado, on Wednesday was found unresponsive in a neighbouring home county, US media confirmed.
The suspect was identified as 17-year-old Austin Lyle, the Park County coroner’s office revealed, according to NBC News paper on Thursday.
Lyle was being sought by authorities after High School attack that claimed two lives at East High School.
A school teacher is now receiving medical treatment in serious condition, while another had been released to go back home, NBC reported, citing a hospital spokesman.
The shooting incident was the latest report of gun violence targeting US schools.
Denver Police Department confirmed the report on Wednesday evening that a body was discovered near Lyle’s vehicle in Park County, southwest of Denver.
The county police boss office said a probe was ongoing and further reports would not be released until a postmortem was done, NBC reported.
The deceased’s vehicle was discovered just before 4:30 pm (2230 GMT), police stated, according to The Denver Post paper.
The body was discovered after four hours of search, a few hundred meters from the vehicle.
The body of the deceased was transferred to the hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
