High court has finally responded to Mama Ngina Kenyatta’s petition involving the attorney general and Chief registrar of land.
As relayed by a report covered Kenyans.co.ke, Justice John Chigiti certified the case as urgent ordering Mama Ngina Kenyatta and the former member of parliament to file a substantive motion in support of the matter.
“The Applicants shall thereafter file and serve their submissions within 14 days. The Respondents shall thereafter file and serve their submissions within 14 days of service.
Also, Justice Chigiti mentioned a date on which the matter will be heard and discussed.
“The matter shall be mentioned on March 5, 2024, to report compliance,” read the orders in part.
It should be noted that Mama Ngina Kenyatta had sued Attorney general and Chief registrar of land for allegedly failing to issue her the land documents of over 1000 hectares.
” Mama Ngina Kenyatta has moved to court to sue the Ministry of Lands for refusing to give her a title deed over a piece of land measuring 1062 hectares in Taita Taveta. Mama Ngina says the Chief Lands Registrar & the Attorney General have refused to release the title deed”, Juma wrote.
