Barely a day after Paul Mwaniki narrated to the public how his efforts aided police in nabbing three Kamiti Maximum Prison escapees, a section of Kenyan ladies has started drooling over him.
Mwaniki, a resident of Kitui, explained how he spotted the trio; Musharaf Abdalla, Mohamed Ali Abikar and Joseph Juma Odhiambo at Endau Malalani Ward and traced them tactfully.
“They walked in some sneaky way creating a zig-zag formation. It involved crossing the road from one point to another. They also seemed to avoid any contact with other residents compelling them to walk through thorny bushes,” he said.
Earlier, the government had promised a Sh60million reward for information that would lead to the arrest of the trio.
For the better part of Thursday afternoon, Kenyans on Twitter piled pressure on the government to give Mwaniki his reward although Interior CS Fred Matiang’i downplayed appeared non-committal on the matter.
The CS was asked: “For the Kenyans who offered the information, will they get the reward?”
In response, the Interior CS said: “No…no…no, we are not going there at the moment. Let us not be speculative about this. We are going to work on this meticulously as my colleagues have said.”
That notwithstanding, a section of ladies has expressed admiration for Mwaniki, hailing his bravery and ‘good looks’.
