The Kenyan Government has today reported the first case of the deadly Rift Valley Fever (RVF) in the country.

Addressing via Acting Director General fir Health, Dr. Patrick Amoth, the Kenyan Government has intimated that the first human case of Rift Valley Fever (RVF) is from the altruistic and exemplary Turbi Area, strategically placed at North Horr Sub-county in Marsabit county.

The Kenyan Government has intimated that the causative factor of the deadly vector-borne disease has a very close association with the eminent El-Nino rains which wreaked havoc in various part of the country, causing a surge in the mosquitos.

Giving a glimpse of the next course of action following the emergence of the deadly Rift Valley Fever (RVF), the Kenyan Government has ordered all counties in the country to be on a very high alert for a possible spread of the deadly Rift Valley Fever.

The Kenyan Government has ordered all county Governments through their respective County Health Departments to notify all medical personnel of the alert, make them more aware of RVF case definitions, raise the suspicion level, and communicate case definitions with all medical facilities and reporting units.
