The replacement of National Identity Cards has taken an unexpected turn after the Kenyan government made significant changes.

Addressing through Huduma Kenya’s government announced today, April 28th, 2023, that all Kenyan citizens will now be required to book an appointment with Huduma Centres in order to access National Identity Card replacement services at the centers.

The Kenyan government has stated that the new changes in the replacement of national identity cards have been orchestrated as part of a strategic drive to improve access to government services.

The Kenyan government cited the following procedures for scheduling appointments at Huduma Centres: First, go to appointment.hudumakenya.go.ke; second, click on the register button on the menu and fill in the details; third, go to the log-in page and key in the details you will receive via SMS; and finally, go to Huduma Centre.
