Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Saturday announced that the government has released Ksh.600 million to the New Kenya Co-operative Creameries (KCC) for payment of milk delivered by farmers.
Speaking during the ordination of Catholic Diocese of Eldoret Auxiliary Bishop John Kiplimo Lelei in Eldoret town, Gachagua said the government will also soon set aside funds to the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) for the purchase of maize.
“Najua wale watu walipeleka maziwa kwa New KCC pesa yao ilikuwa imekwama, jana tuliwachilia shilingi milioni mia sita, na wakulima wote watapata haki yao,” he said.
Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii assured the Deputy President of support from the North Rift counties, urging him not to be distracted by bad politics.
