It was good news for a section of Generation Z and Kenyans at large as the government reduced the University fee for a section of the citizens planning to join various Universities this August.

According to reliable source, the government while undertaking progressive reforms to make higher education cheaper for Kenyans opted to reduce the University for section of Kenyans who bare set to join various institutions in the August – September intake.

The latest reforms comes after the head of State promised to work on the education sector, with major focus on the cost of education at local institutions which had inflated to astronomical charges. The new rates which were an all time high for a government sponsored student threatened lock out some Kenyans from humble backgrounds from accessing University education.

Following the pleas from Kenyans and protests from Gen Z ( whom amongst the issues they protested against during their anti-government campaign was high cost of education) The Head of State, William Ruto finally delivered on his promise. Earlier today the new fee structure for a lucky Kenyan went viral depicting lowered fee In the new structure the young a Kenyan would only part ways with Ksh 10,000 to fund his education at the institution, for one semester.

However the reduced fee structure may vary as the government waived fee for Kenyans who applied for the new funding model which issues scholarships. Also the amount one is to pay is dependant on the band which a student is categorized.
