The Swahili saying, ‘Mungu hamwachi mtumwa wake,’ is coming true for a woman from Bomet who had a disabled child. This is because such a woman could have been praying God to open ways for her.
The mother got into limelight after she was spotted working in a construction site while in company of her disabled child.
The baby who suffers from Celebral Palsy was spotted sitting on a wooden chair designed for her as the mother toiled while breaking balast.
People sympathized with her situation and began helping to ensure her child stays comfortable. Money was collected from various well-wishers and the baby received a wheelchair from Kijabe Hospital.
The elated mother was captured smiling as her baby sat on the new wheelchair. The help did not stop there as people decided to build her a brick house.
They organized building process to start and purchased various building materials for the modern house.
However, there was a fuss about whether the house should have a washroom inside as others opposed it terming it as luxury. They said the washroom should be outside the house and use the space which could have been occupied by the washroom to build an extra room.
However, they reached an agreement after discussing the condition of the child as they agreed that she needs comfort and safety.
