Following the decision by Azimio principals to remove Raila Odinga and replace him with Kalonzo Musyoka as the coalition leader, Hon. Gladys Wanga, the governor of Homa Bay County, has taken to the microphone today.

According to a video that NTV posted, Hon. Wanga, who doesn’t appear to be in favor of this action, informed the Azimio principals that they couldn’t fire Odinga on the grounds that he was leaving for AU. Raila Odinga will have to step down because he is still in command of Azimio, according to Wanga. She asked the powerful men of Azimio to rethink their choice and bide their time till Raila Odinga made up his mind about continuing as the head of the alliance.

“You can’t take the reins from Raila; he’s still in charge,” said Hon. Gladys Wanga. The Azimio founders announced yesterday that Kalonzo Musyoka had taken Odinga’s post in order to pursue his AUC quest.
