The robbery saga involving a digital TV set has roped in a driver to a top judge after CCTV footage revealed that he was paid handsomely to speed away with the loot. The suspect identified as Eric Ondieki is said to have told a guard at the highly guarded judiciary gate that he was taking his boss home.
According to Tuko.co.ke digital news platform, the vehicle was identified after CCTV footage pointed out his other 2 accomplices carrying the TV set before covertly putting it inside the car registered as GK 198R Mercedes Benz. Detectives managed to review footage and later arrested the cleaners who are seconded from a private company that was contracted to offer services at the premises.
The vehicle which is fitted with a siren was used to speed off the premises as the driver whizzed past traffic and at times used the wrong side of the road. The three suspects however pleaded not guilty before a Milimani Court but were remanded in custody for a further 14 days as investigators believe that other unreported thefts could be linked to a syndicate in the courts
