Team Rigathi has opened up after High court issued a ruling concerning the cases involving Gachagua’s impeachment. Justice Lawrence Mugambi has referred DP’s impeachment case to Chief Justice Martha Koome, who will appoint a three-judge bench to hear the case, in a noteworthy development that occurred this morning in Milimani.
This emphasizes how serious the constitutional problems related to the impeachment are.
A petition to stop the inauguration of a new DP was previously filed at the Eldoret High Court. The petition claimed that it would be unfair to impeach DP Gachagua until all available legal options had been explored.
The petition goes on to say that the procedure is politically driven and might cause instability in the nation.
The legal dispute rages on, with the Senate scheduled to discuss the impeachment on October 16 and 17.
