As Kenyans meticulously point out their inadequacies, the Kenya Kwanza government, led by President William Ruto and his deputy, Kithure Kindiki, is working nonstop to show that they are actually fulfilling their promises.

According to this morning’s news, Junet Mohammed has put forth a new proposal in Parliament. He is suggesting that public engagement be eliminated. To put it another way, more laws will be passed in Parliament without the public’s approval if the proposition is turned into a bill and becomes law.

Paul Muite, the attorney for former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, responded angrily to Junet Mohammed’s comments, claiming that he remembered that “Article 118 of the Constitution makes Public Participation mandatory.”

This occurs as the government uses the narrative that works best for them to claim that the GDP is the reason why the economy is doing better. Even though you claim that the GDP is going well, the average Mwananchi is not doing well.
