TV47 has reported that former President Uhuru Kenyatta has endorsed a Kalonzo-Karua 2027 political ticket.
Insiders, TV47 reports, have revealed that former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i will be the chief cabinet secretary.
Still, it is not clear which position the Democracy for Citizens’ Party leader Rigathi Gachagua will occupy should Ruto’s term end after the 2027 general election.
The development, however, comes just hours after NTV reported that many of the Mt Kenya region leaders elected on the UDA Party are considering migrating to the opposition.
Kikuyu Member of Parliament Kimani Ichung’wa, who doubles as the leader of the majority in the National Assembly, is one of the leaders being speculated to be planning to change their political arithmetics.
By the time of going to the press, nobody, including Kalonzo or Karua, had responded to the media report by TV47 that former President Uhuru Kenyatta has endorsed the lineup for the opposition ahead of the 2027 poll.
