Deputy president Rigathi Gachagua has declined President William Ruto’s request to speak from the state podium as he notes serious breach of protocol at the Uhuru park during the flagging off of community health promoters.

President William Ruto had allowed all those who were given the opportunity to speak at the event to speak from the state podium and when it was the turn of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to follow suit, Gachagua declined while noting serious breach of protocol.

Gachagua noted that as once a former security person , he would be speaking where he was but not at the state podium.

“As a man who was in uniform, I politely decline the invitation by the President to break protocol and I will speak from here.” DP Gachagua said.

He went on to say that Ruto had invited the said people to the state podium for he was comfortable with everyone using the state Podium.

“The president is breaching protocol because it is very hard to remove the hustler out of him… That is why he is comfortable with everyone using the state podium. I will not use the state podium!” Gachagua said
