The Kenyan Defense Forces (KDF) recently carried out a successful operation in Pokot, which resulted in the bombing of a bandit hideout. The preemptive strike was launched after the KDF received intelligence that the bandits were planning to launch attacks on local communities in the area.
Despite the remote location of the hideout, the KDF was able to deliver a devastating blow to the bandits with precision bombing, catching them off guard and resulting in significant losses. Fortunately, there were no reported civilian casualties.
Residents of the area are said to have reported seeing the unmarked helicopter and raising the alarm when they did so, as stated by local reports. An immediate search effort was initiated, after which security forces were sent to the area and posted there. Over the course of this operation, the helicopter was brought in for questioning, and it was discovered that its passengers had been providing the robbers with food and weapons.
The success of the operation has not gone unnoticed, and several Members of Parliament from the North Rift region have pledged their support for the ongoing disarmament exercise. The MPs, including Julius Rutto (Kesses), David Kiplagat (Soi), Gideon Kimaiyo (Keiyo South), Abraham Kirwa (Mosop), Timothy Toroitich (Marakwet West), and Reuben Kiborek (Mogotio), have all committed to actively supporting the disarmament exercise and efforts to locate and apprehend the bandits from their hiding places.
