Accidents on highways have been on the rise in the recent past with the government uncertain what to do to mitigate this scourge that has plagued our nation.
Accidents are allegedly caused by non-compliance with the highway code and the unconscious of some drivers on the roads according to reports from the National Transport and Safety Authority, NTSA.

This evening we have just received bad news that a fatal road accident has occurred in Kakamega county.
According to the source, the accident occured near Mukangu on the Kakamega Butere Road. Unfortunately four people are said to have died on the spot and several others left with serious injuries.
The accident involved a 14 seater matatu which rolled several times after losing control following a tyre burst.
The accident was confirmed by traffic police officers from Mukangu police post.
Those who were injured have been rushed to Butere hospital where they are receiving treatment. And the four bodies have been moved to the same hospital mortgage.
Motorist have been advised to exercise much care while on this roads. May the souls of departed rest in eternal peace.
