Four people have sustained injuries in a road accident along the Nairobi –Mombasa Highway, Makueni.
Eastern regional police commander Joseph Ole Napeiyan said the injured included three men and a woman.
The accident involved three vehicles, a Prado, a lorry and a trailer.
The quartet were all occupants of a Toyota Prado that got involved in the accident at Malili shopping centre within Salama, on Sunday night.
The incident was reported to the Salama police station.
The road carnage came barely 24 hours after another accident happened in the Ndii area in Voi, Taita Taveta, where at least 12 people lost their lives.
In the Voi accident, two vehicles collided head-on resulting in deaths on the spot.
The accident occurred at 4.20 pm on the Nairobi–Mombasa Highway.
“Salama police station reported a road traffic accident that occurred on Sunday at about 8 pm along Nairobi–Mombasa Highway at Malili area in Salama, Makueni,” Napeiyan told the Star on Monday.
The police boss said there were no casualties.

He said all the Prado’s occupants sustained head injuries.
They were all rushed to Machakos Level 5 hospital in Machakos, for medication while the three wreckages were towed to Salama police station awaiting inspection.
The scene was attended to and processed by traffic personnel from Salama police station who later cleared the traffic snarl–up that resulted as a result of the accident.
Napeiyan said his officers had launched investigations into the accident.
