In a live interview with Citizen TV this morning, Mr. Eric Theuri, the immediate former president of the Law Society of Kenya, responded to the rising number of kidnappings in the country by saying that it is undeniable that the Kenya Kwanza Government is complicit in the ongoing abduction cases.

The debate over kidnappings and killings has grown exceedingly frightening, with protesters threatening to shut down the streets in protest of their release.

According to the former LSK president, the continuous kidnappings are being carried out to deal with any opposition to the Ruto regime.

He even insisted that, given the available information, gangs created by high-ranking government officials, rather than driven by avarice, are to blame for the kidnappings.

“The motive in these abductions is that those people have criticized the President, stated the former LSK President; one of the people who has been abducted is the guy who drew the famous Kasongo cartoon.”

He continued. The only people being abducted, according to attorney Eric Theuri, are those who are reportedly ridiculing the President.

He claims that the administration, which has denied these accusations, is being held accountable.

“The reason why these people are being abducted is they are ridiculing leaders, they are ridiculing the President.”

Lawyer Eric Theuri delivered his statement a few days after President William Ruto quietly denied that the government was involved in the kidnapping while in Bungoma County.

The President even directed the National Police Service to respond to inquiries on the abductions.
