Former Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba has expressed deep sorrow following the passing of former Busia Deputy Governor, Moses Mulomi.Taking to social media on Wednesday, January 29, Namwamba described Mulomi as a “fine son of Busia, a phenomenal professional, and a good man.”

He added that he had lost not only a responsible elder brother but also a genuine close friend.

The late Mulomi, who served as Busia’s second Deputy Governor, had a distinguished career, both locally and internationally.

Namwamba highlighted his contributions as a Director at the Kenya Cultural Center, a position he appointed him to during his tenure as CS for the Arts and Creative Economy.

According to Namwamba, Mulomi played a key role in revitalizing the KCC, spearheaded transformative projects, including the Marachi Cultural Center currently under construction in Butula sub-county.Beyond his leadership, Mulomi was a mentor and an inspiration to many.

Namwamba fondly recalled how, in October 2022, when he was appointed CS for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy, and Sports, Mulomi personally visited him to offer congratulations and encouragement.

In a touching revelation, Namwamba noted that Mulomi’s last social media post on December 21, 2024, was yet another congratulatory message to him following his appointment as Kenya’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to UNEP and UNON.

Describing Mulomi’s passing as a huge loss to Busia County, Kenya Cultural Center, and the international community, Namwamba accepted the tragedy with faith.

DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa also mourned Mulomi as a resourceful person who touched many lives and left a mark on development and politics.
