Police in Busia have launched investigations into the death of a football player.
Godfrey Karakach Igody alias Rasta was found dead at his rented house in Malaba town.
Igody failed to respond to calls from his family members, prompting them to look for him at his residence where they found the door locked from inside. When they broke into the house, they found his lifeless body lying on bed.
The cause of his death is yet to be known, but police have commenced investigations to establish how he died.
Area police boss revealed that they are following crucial leads into the circumstances surrounding the death of Igody.
While sharing the sad news, veteran journalist and Busia FKF secretary Rueben Olita, expressed shock at the sudden death of the prolific striker who led Boca Juniors to glory.
Olita described the late Igody as an outstanding player who scored goals at will with lethal strikes.
The Football Kenya Federation Busia Branch chairman, Eugene Okello mourned Igody saying the entire Boca Junior FC and the Malaba soccer fraternity has lost an icon.
