A young woman’s body was found in a far-off bush, her lower body and torso hidden behind a crude banana leaf wrap. The horrific spectacle, which shocked the villagers, has subsequently been described by Citizen TV Kenya as an attempt by the suspect to cover up a horrible crime in one of the most terrifying deeds this sleepy community has ever seen.

The dead was discovered in a condition that has caused grave worries; his name has not yet been disclosed pending communication of his family. According to police reports, she left her underwear—a bra and underpants—scattered throughout, raising the possibility that she had been sexually assaulted before her tragic death.

The way the body is arranged and the clothes that have been abandoned provide a disturbing and bleak image of what happened before she passed away. According to eyewitness accounts, the strange noise in the vicinity caused the locals to become suspicious first.

One of the first people on the scene was the deceased’s aunt, Esther Mutugi. “My neighbors called me because they saw a woman’s body shrouded in banana leaves and were alarmed. “I knew her right away when I got there,” she sobbed as she recalled. The family is in great sadness as they process the severity of the crime following the tragic disclosure.

James Muriuki, the victim’s uncle, provided additional information, revealing that the woman had communicated with Gitia, the primary suspect, shortly prior to her abduction. Muriuki remarked, “We were shocked to find that she had been killed in the very place we were told she was not,” alluding to the mother of the suspect’s false claims on the victim’s location.

Authorities stated that Gitia is currently in jail and being questioned by detectives. They were led by Kirinyaga West Sub-county Police Commander Moses Koskei. “We suspect foul play, possibly sexual assault before the murder,” said Koskei. As the inquiry gets more intense, a post-mortem will be performed on the deceased at Karatina Mortuary.
