A local TV station has reported that a former Member of County Assembly has died after collapsing on Friday morning in Sophia, Homa Bay town constituency in Homa Bay county.
Ramogi TV confirms that the former ward representative identified as Lawrence Mula died upon arriving at Homa Bay Referral Hospital where he was taken after collapsing.
His family who confirmed his death, said that Mula collapsed in the morning as he was walking from Sophia estate to towards Homa Bay main town, the cause of his death not yet established.
Mula was elected as a ward representative of Kanyadoto ward in Ndhiwa constituency, Homa Bay county and served for only one term between 2013 and 2017. He was elected with the Raila Odinga’s ODM party.
Mula became known after being linked to the death of Rongo University student Sharon Atieno who was allegedly killed and dumped inside Kodera forest. Former Migori county governor Okoth Obado was also a suspect in the murder of Sharon.
