Eugene Wamalwa, a prominent political figure, recently addressed longstanding accusations regarding his involvement in the estate of his late brother, Wamalwa Kijana. These allegations have been a tool for his political opponents, painting him as someone who tried to snatch the property meant for his brother’s children.

Speaking on a popular podcast, Eugene Wamalwa sought to clarify his position and shed light on the complex family dynamics that ensued after his brother’s death. Wamalwa revealed that he was his brother’s lawyer and a close confidant, a role he had to relinquish following his brother’s demise due to the ensuing family dispute over the estate. The children of Wamalwa Kijana, divided among themselves, took the matter to court, prompting Eugene to step back and hand over the legal responsibilities to another lawyer.

Eugene explained that his decision to step aside was guided by both legal ethics and family considerations. He believed it was impossible to act against or on behalf of his late brother’s children amidst their internal conflict. By handing the case to another lawyer, Eugene ensured that all children were entitled to an equal share of their father’s estate. This stance, however, was misinterpreted by the youngest sibling, who accused Eugene of siding with the other children to torment him.

This family rift has not only led to a prolonged legal battle over the 700M estate, which remains unresolved for over 20 years but has also been exploited by Eugene’s political opponents. A clip of the youngest sibling’s accusations has been used repeatedly to undermine Eugene’s credibility. Despite the support from four other children who understood Eugene’s position, the narrative of betrayal has persisted in the political arena.
