A code of conduct to guide your behavior in the office are being put up.
This code has severe penalties for anyone facing accusations of sexual harassments. Maina and Kingangi on Monday Match 14th discussed this urging men to read and understand the rules. Maina told that they walked in to work and found notices all over.
Kingangi told men that if fired , you will lose any benefits accrued. Maina asked men to tell what they face in offices. Many told him that decency plays a big role. That women dress in ways that make men gesture at them.
Here are some
@MurambiSammy…Kkkkkkkkkk..a friend of mine carpenter was given a job by a lady to fix curtain boxes ZA master bedroom..the lady insisted on assisting. She came around wearing transparent pink sleeping dress..!#MainaAndKingangi
@Kevoh2mhumble…@ItsMainaKageni Maina we also get harassed imagine dem akikwambia kababa niletee maji ya kunywa alafu anakushika apa Kwa kufua “kababa” what is that #MainaAndKingangi @Classic105Kenya
A man called saying ‘women dress provocatively so men comment and react to that,
Another man called ‘I’m an IT guy in the office and we fix computers do you know how harassed we are by women in office, you touch her mouse then she touches the mouse with you to move with you then she bends and brookside kcc ziko inje, what am i supposed to do as a man? And she is wearing a short dress, then she asks me if i want ot go to Java, then at night she texts me goodnight asking how my day went’
Maina clarified what the code of conduct includes ‘the law on sexual harassment is not pegged on how one is dressed, it doesn’t matter how they are dressed you should not react, the definition is any unwanted inappropriate sexual remarks or physical advance in the workplace’
A woman called in agreeing with men that a dress code should be enforced ‘unajua those rules some people are going to take advantage of it, like if I don’t like you pita tuu karibu na mimi i will report you, they need to look at rules for women, women should be told in the office to cover your kcc,’
A third man called saying ‘these rules zita tumaliza, I have a very big problem with staff they call me my dear, najipata niko nyuma yao, now how can I handle that? it’s hard to tell them to stop because they are beautiful, they call me my dear kwanza at about 25th of the month when money is almost they call you my dear’
Do you agree with the mens call for decency?
